Book Club – Peggy Carlton
Enjoy a terrific getaway evening on the last Monday of each month by joining the PROSC Book Club. Members gather at 6:30 for a potluck designed around the theme of the book. The more creative, the better. So join the PROSC members who engage their brains and their funny bones monthly.
Bunko Club – Naomi Forryan
Talent – wish I had it, Skill – I could use it, Luck –All that’s needed for a good Bunko game. Join the PROSC Bunko Club for an evening of fun, laughter and prizes on the first Tuesday of every month. Participants bring a dish to share (savory or sweet) and $5 donation to play (which goes to a charity chosen by the Bunko group at the end of the year). No experience necessary.
Computer Club – Kimberly Jones
Let's ask Stephen!! Learn how to actually use your computer to do those
cool things that are to silly to ask anyone how to figure out! Do you know
how to set up and email signature? BCC someone?, see a photo or document
that you just can't seem to open? Come ask any and all questions about your
PC, MAC, or Antique "thing" that sits in the corner. You will need a
lap-top since we will meet at a local site, and a list of some things you've
always wanted to know how to do. Our meetings will be hands-on,
do-it-yourself type of mini Q & A workshops. It's new to PROSC this year so
come have some fun.....or get rid of some frustration!
DAY TRIPS
- Kimberly Jones
When you need to get away from that laundry pile-up, you can come join this
wonderful group of ladies that meet once a month for a day out with
"girl-friends"!
This day usually involves lunch, shopping, and community awareness type
things that are just fun times spent with friends. We learn a lot from each
other and
laughter is always part of our day. Whether it's a physical activity such
as a bkie ride, an all-day round trip to D.C. Annapolis, Fredericksburg,
or a low-key adventure to the local nursery with someone who has a truck, we
try to do "something for everyone"!! Some days just might include a chance
to
bring the kids for part of the adventure. Whatever goes.....we just wanna
have fun!!
Golf Club – Kim Silvernagel
No rules! We usually just play 9 holes and welcome any level of skill since
we're still learning the game! Come share your time and tips as we walk the
course, look for lost balls, and putter away the day or evening. We meet at the
base golf course which is right on the water by the old Cedar Point Officer's
Club. Outing times will be kept flexible based on weather, schedules, and
Clubhouse tee time requirements. "FORE" = famous golf term meaning "LOOK
OUT"!!!!!! Does that apply to flying clubs as well?????
Individual Augmentee Group –
Susan Macyko
For military officer's spouses that are in our area while duty calls their
other half away for long periods of time in various locations around the world.
Jewelry Club – Colette Cottreau
Projects can be as simple as stringing beads in a repetitive pattern to complete a bracelet or necklace or easy wire work to assemble earrings in one meeting.
We'll share ideas, supplies, knowledge and fun. Maybe even a fieldtrip or two to
our "area" bead shops! Spectators are welcome, although you might be tasked with chasing our runaway beads!
This group meets on the 3rd
Monday of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in Colette's Home.
"Out to Lunch" Gourmet Bunch – Rebekah Kent
You don’t have to be a gourmet cook to join this gourmet club! This
group gets together monthly on the 3rd
Thursday from 11:00 - ?
just to eat! Whether in someone's home or at a restaurant, a
selected food theme sets the atmosphere. Participants each bring a
dish to share
and their recipe tips. Sometimes a neat kitchen tool is shown-off
or practical information passed on.....do you know how to peel a
mushroom?
PROSC Playgroup (NEW!)-
Marika Mosley and Naomi Forryan
Calling all with little ones! Come enjoy some time with other PROSC
Members as we share ideas, activities, plans, and conversations about
and around our kids! This group is currently being set up and details
will be included in the monthly PROSC Newsletters, meetings, and through
general friendships. We look forward to fun, fabulous, play and just
over-all helping each other out through association with this wonderful
group of gals and kids!
Quilt Club –
Ann Wilde & Theresa Fincham
Keep it simple, basic, easy! Getting together to hand-make something will
be rewarding to say the least! Quilting will be introduced in fun steps,
little projects, and individual squares. This is a "NO HOMEWORK" group,
unless you want to practice, with make-and-take type items. Nothing needed
to start: we can share, borrow, or bring what you have. Any level of
knowledge welcome! Learn design names, color coordination, fabric facts,
and techniques. Perhaps we'll know more about what we're bidding on when we
go to the Amish Quilt Auctions this year!
This group meets from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. the
2nd Tuesday of every month in the
Longfellow Conference Room at the Lexington Park
Library.
